On 7th October 2016 in Moscow the 4th National Conference
“Society for All Ages”, devoted to the quality of life of
elderly people. During the two days of the Conference participants took part in
the work of three plenary sessions and 13 panel discussions, united by the
common theme “Culture of Old Age”.
The 4th National Conference “Society for All
Ages” was attended by about 500 people from Russia, the United States, Austria,
Israel, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: representatives of NGOs, social services,
doctors and gerontologists, government officials and civic leaders. In the course
of the event ten silver volunteers over 60 years old from Moscow were providing
their help to the organizers of the Conference. For the first time at the Conference
the brainstorming project “Young Old” was implemented, under which the participants
have developed new educational practices for elderly people. Representatives of
the International Institute for Applied System Analysis, the Russian
Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Russian
Gerontological Research and Clinical Center and the NGO “Pass It On Network” (USA)
presented the results of three unique researches.
During the working sessions, speakers and guests
of the Conference discussed a variety of topics, including: “heterogeneity” of
the culture of old age in the regions of Russia and countries of the world, its
dependence on mature traditions and beliefs; role of the family, the state and
the community in the life of an elderly person; organization of home and the
public space for a comfortable aging; development and introduction of new
technologies to improve the quality of life; dignified death, the language in
which we talk about old age. All this has a direct impact on quality of life
and contributes to society and the environment, adapted to the needs of all
social groups.
Traditionally, the conference “Society for All Ages”
has become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between
participants from different countries and regions of Russia.
The conference was organized by the Charitable
Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko, supported by the Ministry of
Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Labor and Social
Protection of the Russian Federation, “Skolkovo” Foundation and JSC “RVC”. Communication
agency “Rules of Communications” acted as a project coordinator.
The Institute of the Information Society, which acted as
an information partner of the Conference, was presented at the event by Olga
Reznikova, Deputy Director General, Irina Miroshnichenko, Manager of the
Program of Technological Support to the NGOs (InfoDonor), and Olga Kopyeva,
Content Manager. Participants of the Conference were provided with the information
on the Program of Technological Support to the NGOs (InfoDonor), through which
NGOs can get the donations of the software. |
