Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
Governing Bodies

The top governing body of the Institute of the Information Society is the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is in charge of making the key strategic decisions related to the Institute’s activity. These decisions include, for instance, changing the Charter, determining the priority directions of activities and the Institute’s development strategy; changing the membership of the IIS Supervisory Board, adopting decisions of reorganizing or closing down the Institute, and delegating the IIS representatives for participating in other organizations’ activities.

The Supervisory Board is responsible for the general oversight and monitoring of the Institute’s activity. Representatives of domestic, foreign, and international state institutions, organizations, and companies, nonprofit organizations, private firms as well as individuals sharing the Institute’s goals could become members of the Supervisory Board.

The General Directorate executes the decisions adopted by the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board and provides general coordination and technical support of the Institute’s activities.
