As it was informed earlier,
on 23rd May, 2016 the meeting of IIS leaders with Dr. Saied
Reza Ameli, Professor of Communications and American Studies of the
University of Tehran, Chief of the UNESCO Chair on Cyberspace and
Culture: Dual Spacization of the World, and Dr. Hamid Zanganeh, the 3rd Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow took
place at the premises of the Institute of the Information Society.
Following the meeting, the
Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute and the
University of Tehran.
The Parties agreed as
follows:
- to mutually develop and structure
cooperation and work together towards the shared goals of building a people-oriented,
inclusive and development oriented information society, where everyone can
create, access, utilize and share information and knowledge, enabling individuals,
communities and peoples to achieve their full potential in promoting their
sustainable development and improving their quality of life, and to
promote the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly, the global
partnership for development the attainment of a more peaceful, just and
prosperous world.
- to establish a close
cooperation in order to encourage the implementation of ICTfor
development in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation
and to stimulate the development of ICT policy and regulation, as well as
research and technology cooperation.
- to exchange appropriate
information and promote together the work in such field as information
society development policy and regulations, digital government, smart
nation, smart city, smart education, e-culture, e-science etc.
- to reinforce cooperation
in the area of publishing research papers by identifying relevant authors
and publications and recommending them to be published in the "Information
Society" journal and in the Iranian scientific journals.
- to initiate, co-organize
or facilitate mutual participation in relevant workshops, conferences,
congresses etc. held in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the Russian
Federation and in other countries where possible, to benefit from
networking, knowledge sharing and capitalizing the contents of such
events.
From the University of
Tehran the Faculty of World Studies and the UNESCO Chair on Cyberspace
and Culture will be responsible for the implementation of the MoU. |
