Under the heading
"Socio-economic aspects of the Information Society" in the article by
Konopatskaya Ekaterina and Natalia Svechnikova from Samara State Economic
University the interdependence of human capital development processes and the
information society are studied by constructing econometric models.
The article by
Anna Gorbacheva from Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management, stating
that currently there is a new image of man – “clicking person” and examining
the impact of converging technologies on human behavior, opens the traditional
and popular heading of the journal “Man in the Information Society”. Emerging social
networks, on the one hand, simplify the process of mass communication, but on
the other hand they have formed new opportunities to influence public opinion.
Based on the
analysis of social network users’ behavior Evgeni Shpak from the Omsk
Dostoevsky State University concludes that social networks can be an effective
tool for information influence to be used by the governments.
Under the heading
“Culture in the Information Society” the two articles are represented. The
article by Galina Shapovalova from Vladivostok University of Economics and
Service highlights the problems of preservation and rights for access to
digital cultural heritage in World Wide Web, stresses the importance of
harmonizing national and international standards to increase the accessibility
of digital cultural heritage objects. Research by Irina Dashibalova from the
Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Branch of
the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ulan-Ude) is devoted to the problem of
accessibility to the scientific community a large base of film documents on
Buryatia, the Irkutsk Region and Trans-Baikal, which are the historic residence
zones for Buryats. Creation of the electronic catalog of movie sources representing
the Buryats expands methodical arsenal of visual aids, also due to such
cartographic tools as GIS, training materials and electronic encyclopedias.
In the article by
Dmitriy Kaminchenko from Nizhni Novgorod Lobachevsky State University the significance
of social media as applied to the area of mind manipulation is considered. The
author examines representation of the order value typical for the modern
Russian society.
Alexander Mamakov
and Larissa Pererva from Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service
analyzed the information security problems in relation to marine transport in
their article placed under the heading “Information Society Technologies”. It
is argued that marine security in seaports waters and near to them is an
important national objective.
In the article by
Olga Vershinskaya of the Institute of Social and Economic Studies of
Population, Russian Academy of Science (Moscow) the experience of European
cooperation in the framework of COST Actions – research, in which an important
role is given to the study of the social impact of information, is presented. |
