Accompanying exhibition was organized under support of the Ministry of Communications and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.  More than 100 companies of different forms of ownership from 20 countries (|Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Sweden, Turkey, Lithuania, Belarus, Kazakhstan and others) participated in the exhibition.  

On September 16, 2015 the Conference was opened with a plenary session “Development Perspectives of Information and Communication Technology Sector in Turkmenistan. The Formation of a Global Partnership”. The opening speech was delivered by Bairamgeldy Ovezov, the Minister of Communication of Turkmenistan. The session was chaired by Nurudin Mukhitdinov, Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).

Reports at the plenary session were delivered by:

• Abdul Razaq Vahidi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan
• Nurudin Mukhitdinov, Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC)
• Zaur Hasanov, Director of Trans European Information Super Highway Company (TASIM)
• Wang Peng, Vice President of Central Asia and Caucasus Region, company Huawei Tech. Investment CO., LTD
• Andrey Untila, CIS Project Manager, International Telecommunication Union.

The Conference then was continued with the session “Implementation of Satellite Systems and Turkmenistan’s Integration in Global Information Space”. The session was chaired by Eric Imbert, Sales and Marketing President for Asia region of Thales Alenia Space. The main reporter was Alladurdy Atayev, Chairman of the National Space Agency under the President of Turkmenistan.

The second day of the Conference was devoted to examination of the following challenges and problems:

• information technologies as key factor of Turkmenistan’s innovative development
• overview of the current situation and further development opportunities in mobile and internet networks in Turkmenistan.

The 9^th International Telecommunications and IT Conference was attended by Tatiana Ershova, Director General of the Instituteу of the Information Society, and   Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors.
