In the heading
"Leaders of Information Society", traditional for the Journal, the interview
by Tatiana Ershova, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, with Dr. Michael Stanton, Director
for Research and Development of the National Research and Education Network
(Brazil) is presented. The interview is focused on the emergence of Internet in
Brazil. A role of the academic community and the National Research and
Education Network (RNP) in this process is revealed and specific features of
the Brazilian Internet are shown. The role of public support in the sphere of
ICT development at national and regional levels is emphasized.
Under the topic “Foreign Experience. International Cooperation” the
first part of Peter Knight’s book “The Internet in Brazil. Origins, Strategy, Development
and Governance” is presented. The book shows how the Internet emerged
in Brazil, how it was being developed, how this sphere is governed and why its
future development is strategic for achieving national goals. Chapter,
published in this issue of the Journal, is devoted to the last of these questions.
It contains arguments for the provision of a central place of internet in the national
strategy of Brazil aimed at achieving of a better future.
There are three articles under the topic “Social
and Economic Aspects of the Information Society”. Nelli Bachurina, Candidate of
Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor of the Department of Integrated
Communication of the National
Research University “Higher School of Economics” (Moscow), presents the theory of integrated communications. Researchers Elena
Pavlenko, Yuliya Perepechina, Larisa Petrova, Elena Pryamikova and Vera
Kharchenko from Ural State Pedagogical University introduce the scientific term
“cyber help”, which means the use of Internet resources and technologies by
individuals to resolve vital problems and complements the features of the
Information Society development in Russia.
The main task of
the article of representatives of Russian Plekhanov University of Economics Maria Tverdokhlebova and Valeriy Nikishkin is developing the research methods for exploring
impact of the company’s website usability on perception of its image by
potential clients from Â2Â sector. And under the topic “Sports and Tourism in the
Information Society” Svetlana Dusenko, candidate of
sociological sciences, analyzes the issues of transforming social environment of
tourism in the conditions of ICT and information society development. |
