Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS representatives took part in the TechSoup Global Network Partner Summit 2014 started in San Francisco

Rebekka Masisak, TechSoup Global CEO, delivered her welcoming speech to the participantsThe main goal of the Summit was to discuss achievements (assets) of the network and possibilities of its future development.

On the first day of the Summit, on 5th March 2014, TechSoup Global CEO, Rebekka Masisak delivered her welcoming speech to the participants. Then she made presentation “TechSoup Global Strategy in the Context of a Network Proposition”, in which she outlined that in recent years, the TechSoup Global Network has expanded significantly and currently includes 45 countries. It became a tool that provides to TechSoup Global partners all over the world the opportunity to interact, exchange the information and best practices. Network portal also contains information resources for NGOs allowing them gain knowledge on modern technologies and services, as well as to efficiently use them in their main activities. In her presentation Rebekka Masisak drew attention of the TechSoup Global community to the necessity of further development and improvement of network operation and creation of innovative multi-stakeholder platform. She noted that the objective of Summit participants is to share existing achievements and challenges of donation programs in different countries, brainstorming and discussion of ideas and their implementation.

Irina Miroshnichenko, "infoDonor" Program ManagerThen Jane Meseck, Director of Global Citizenship and Public Affairs, Microsoft, delivered her presentation and expressed her gratitude to TechSoup Global Partners for their assistance in providing Office 365 to NGOs. Summit participants exchanged the information on their experience and problems they faced in this project since September 2013. In the afternoon, the panel discussion, in which 5 NGOs from Brazil, India, Poland, Rwanda and Philippines reported on their prospects of realization of programs and services focusing on how the technologies/resources assisted them in their activities, what possibilities they used and what they missed.

Afterwards, participants were acquainted with corporate philanthropy programs of Microsoft, Google, LinkedIn and vision of representatives of these companies on which social change can be brought and how TechSoup Global Network may participate in such projects.

First day ended with a section, in which participants had the opportunity to talk to each other, discuss issues they are interested in working in small groups.
