The issue is opened by an
interview with Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the "Information Society" journal and Chairman of the
Board of Directors of the Institute of the Information Society. The interview describes the history of genesis
and analysis of success factors of the Institute, whose team celebrated the 15th
anniversary of the organization.
According to Yuri Hohlov the vision
of the information society as a strategic line of development at global,
national and regional levels, as well as at the level of particular
corporations, absolutely proved itself. The
important factors of IIS success are commitment to results, motivation to be
the leader in its sphere, motivation to comply with the world standards.
The topic of this issue – "ICT
Distribution and Use as Driving Force of Development", – is examined in six new
publications.
The column "Social and economic aspects of the information society" in this issue is represented by an article by professor Valfrid Trayer,
who examines innovative economy as global information system.
Alexander Evtyushkin,
Head of IIS Directorate of Perspective Projects, proposes
methodology of audit of ICT infrastructure of public authority bodies.
The column "Information society
and rights" this time is represented by a group of authors from the Government
of Rostov region (Boris Nosko, Yuri Chernysh and Natalia Malysheva), who review
the principle of exterritoriality in the provision of public and municipal services.
In the column "Culture in information
society" our new author Dmitry Prokudin from S.-Petersburg State University
analyses influence of computer games on formation of social and cultural
appearance of a man: the main problems were noted and ways of solution planned.
The article by authors from Kabardino-Balkaria Gumar
Batov, Temirzhan Ivanov and Alim Gubzhokov examines the state of informatization
in the North Caucasian Federal District, calculates information society
readiness index, reveals interconnection between state of informatization and
sustainable development of the region. |
