Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
A new issue of the “Information Society” journal was published - ¹ 3 in 2013

The concept of "electronic participation" of citizens in management is discussed by the editor in chief with Vyacheslav Cherkasov, Senior Governance and Public Administration Officer of the Division for Public Administration and Development Management of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

Issues, vital for understanding of peculiarities of the human being’s life in information society, are examined by Doctor of Philosofy Alexander Alekseev (communication contexts) and Lyudmila Baeva (existential risks). Postgraduate Aleksey Kuryavsky refers to information inequality – one of the main problems of contemporary world, dividing people in strong and weak from the point of view of possibilities, and as a factor, which deepens this inequality in Russia, he analyses the expansion of off-the-air television.

Alexander Shvetsov, Doctor of Economic Sciences, draws attention to the real tool of expanding of people’s possibilities in the information society, i.e. to the universal electronic map, and evaluates the course of the project’s implementation. And Rasim Alguliev, Doctor of engineering, Corresponding Member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, together with co-author Rasim Makhmudov examine perspectives of establishing the internet of things – a concept configured to essentially reconstruct economic and social processes, and thus to a large extent to change the life of a contemporary man.  At the same time Lidia Efremova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, examines a more heavy-footed but very important for economics technology of information and analytical providing for energy saving at municipal level. The issue is concluded by an article by Tambov researches headed by Vladimir Nemtinov, PhD, where possibility of ICT use for modeling of objects of historical heritage is reviewed.
