Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS General Director participated in the 23rd Economic Forum (3-5 September, Krynica-Zdrój, Poland)

Forum's traditional venueFor the 23rd time during the Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój the most significant figures from the world of politics and business from Eastern and Central Europe will have an opportunity to meet. This edition’s motto, namely “Towards a New Deal”, refers to an economic, social and political transformations, which result from the global economic crisis.

Within three days of discussions, guests of the conference were seeking answers to fundamental questions such as: how to ensure economic growth or fight the unemployment, and how to strengthen the EU structures. Other important topics to be raised during the Forum include: the issues of the Euro’s introduction, reducing the economic distance between “the new” and "the old"  EU member states, the signing of the Association Agreement with countries of Eastern Partnership, development of  new cooperation model between the EU, Russia and China and questions of financing key infrastructural projects.

In recent years Krynica hosted important ministerial and bilateral meetings: the summit of Justice Ministers of the Visegrad Group, which was assessed as "actual reactivation of the group," or the summit of Economy Ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries, which discussed the impact on the EU’s economy on its neighbors.

The most interesting discussions were overcrowdedWhat is particularly important for the organizers is that the Forum meets with growing interest from key European financial institutions, major corporations as well as small and medium enterprises. And what makes for the value of the Krynica Forum is that regional see it as an opportunity to make new contacts and talk with politicians about the most important issues and administrative barriers.

The Forum hosted almost 3000 participants from around 50 countries of Europe, Asia and America. It comprised near 170 different events like panel discussions, plenary sessions, workshops, exhibitions and special events, devoted to such areas of interest as macroeconomics, international politics, energy, innovation and health care.

As emphasized many times by the organizers of the Forum, city of Krynica with its location far from main road tracks, brings you some additional advantages, because the guests of Krynica conference do not disappear immediately after their panel, but they do stay longer here.
