On
November 13-14, 2012 Moscow hosted the International conference "IITE-2012. ICT
in education: pedagogics, educational resources and quality assurance". The
conference was organized by UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in
Education, UNESCO Bureau in Moscow, Commission of the Russian Federation for
UNESCO, Research Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications "Informika",
Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI).
The
purpose of the International conference IITE-2012 is discussion of the
strategy, policy and best practices in ICT use in education, as well as in development
and implementation of innovative pedagogics and methods of teaching for
achieving high quality level of education for everybody in countries-members of
UNESCO.
At
the opening ceremony the welcoming speeches were delivered by Qian Tang, UNESCO
Assistant-Director General for Education; Bernard Cornu, Chairman of the UNESCO
IITE Governing Board, Cabinet Director of the National Center for Distance
Education, France; Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze, Secretary-General of the Commission
of the Russian Federation for UNESCO; Natalia Tikhomirova, rector of MESI;
Nikolay Pryanishnikov, president of Microsoft in Russia.
Within
the framework of the plenary session of the conference key reports were
delivered by David Istance, representative of the OECD'S Centre for Educational Research and Innovation, on "Innovative education
and teaching: OECD’s opinion", and Diana Laurillard, representative of the
London Laboratory of Knowlidge of the UK Institute of Education, on "teaching
as a science of projecting: opportunity for high school teachers to become
innovators in education technologies".
IIS representatives Alexander Evtyushkin and
Louiza Rizmanova took part in section 2 "Electronic teaching, open and distant
education". Alexander Evtyushkin reported on "Legal and regulatory problems of
free licenses use in distribution of open educational and scientific resources
in the Russian Federation", where activity on promotion of free licenses in
Russia and preparation of draft amendments to the part IV of the Civil Code of
RF was provided.
On
November 14, 2012 Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, acted as
chairman of the panel discussion on "Challenges and opportunities of ICT in
higher education". The discussion was
also attended by Dae-Joon Hwang, the Secretary-General, Korean Council for University
Education, Republic of Korea; Marta Turcsanyi-Szabo,Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary; Stamenka
Uvalic-Trumbic, DeTao Masters Academy, China; Jianzhong Cha, Beijing Jiaotong University, China; Mario Brun, Institute of
ICT in education, University de la Frontera, Chili; Inna Malyukova, Institute
