New UN rating of e-government for 2012 |
It is the best value among all
countries of Eastern Europe and CIS, which has been achieved by Russia over the
past 2 year since the publication of the last rating. In the index of e-Participation
Russia entered the top 20 of leading countries of the world.
The everlasting efforts of the country’s government aiming at stimulation of
ICT use in public administration finally paid off. Against this background special
perplexity is being induced by actions of responsible officials, who excluded the
place in UN rating of e-government from the latest 2011 version of the state
program “Information Society” as the key measurable index. In accordance with the Strategy of Information
Society Development by 2015 Russia must be in the top twenty of world leading
countries in international ratings related to information society development.
