On June 30- July 1 2011within the framework of the VIII Tver Social and Economic Forum "Information Society" work of parallel thematic sections was conducted, where discussion of the current status, plans of development of information society and creation of e-government, analysis of implementation of the National plan of realization of the Strategy of Information Society Development in the Russian Federation took place.

At the meetings of sections such issues were reviewed as creation of e-government, ICT development and use in health protection, education and science, life safety, as well as elimination of differences between subjects of RF in the level of information development, legislation in the information society, development of information industry and national ICT industry. 

Under supervision of Aleksey Popov, Director of Department of Information Technologies and Communications of the Government of the Russian Federation, and Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of the Information Society, Deputy Head of Expert Advisory Group of the Council under the President of Russia on Information Society Development, worked section "Creation of e-Government in the Russian Federation", where readiness of provision of public and municipal services in electronic format, complex of works aimed at organizing interdepartmental cooperation, methodical provision of transition to public services in electronic format were discussed.

Tatiana Ershova, IIS Director General, Head of Section of Expert Advisory Group of the Council under the President of Russia on Information Society Development acted as chairman of the section on "ICT Use in Culture and in System of Cultural and Humanitarian Enlightenment", and participated in presentation and discussion of the "Index of Regions’ E-Readiness. 2009-2010". 

Staff of the Institute of the Information Society also took part in organization of work of all thematic sections.

At the closing plenary session of the forum, which was held by Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, the results of work of all thematic sections were presented.
