At the European Summit  World Economic Forum in Vienna (Austria) the presentation of a report "The Future of Government: Lessons Learned from around the World" prepared by the Global Agenda Council "The Future of Government" of the World Economic Forum was held.

Councils on the global agenda of the World Economic Forum – the most innovative experts and leading practitioners interacting for the purpose of joint examination of the most urgent problems of global development.  

The report provides a summary of the discussions that have taken place within the framework of Forum activities on how the strategies, structures and practices of governments must change in the coming years, and how new networks and technologies can be leveraged to transform government capacity. It includes a series of briefs on government modernization, and examples of case studies from around the world. Also it shows the experience of use of instruments for citizens’ involvement meant for maintenance of contacts and consideration of interests and judgments of citizens in decision-making.

Reflected ways of constructing cooperative relations between public and private sectors for solving actual current problems, which cannot be solved by them individually. Represented the architecture of the future government showing possible ways of achieving internal effectiveness and productiveness in activities of public authorities. Shown examples of important achievements in reforming and modernization of governments in a number of countries and regions, including OECD, Singapore, USA, UAE, Asian and Pacific Council and Great Britain.

One of the co-authors of the report is Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, who is a member of the Council "The Future of Government".

This report is a revised and updated edition of a document prepared by members of the Council in January 2011, which became a topic for discussion at the annual World Economic Forum 2011 in Davos.
