IIS representative took part in Consultations on the Strategy of the World Bank Group on ICT sector development |
Consultations were organized by the ICT Department of the World Bank Group and were held on March 16, 2011 at 15:00-17:00 (Moscow time) with the participation of ICT experts from Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Tajikistan.
The discussion was attended by representatives of the public sector, private sector, NCO and academic community. Participants of consultations got an overview of the project of a new strategy and could present their recommendations on how the World Bank Group can intensify its work on ICT sector support. These comments and recommendations were thoroughly recorded and will be used in the course of Strategy’s revision.
Tatiana Ershova, General Director of the Institute of the Information Society, proposed to reflect in sections devoted to development of infrastructure of access to ICT the problem of digital inequality reducing (digital gap), which remains actual in many countries of the world, including Russia. Besides she recommended to thrash over that part of Strategy, which applies to further development of applications based on ICT, including different e-services and different e-content. | |
