Seminar "Cloud Computing for Public Policy Authorities and Local Authorities" took place involving IIS

On June 22, 2010 Institute of the Information Society hosted a seminar "Cloud Computing for Public Policy Authorities and Local Authorities" took place. 

The seminar was organized by Institute of Contemporary Development together with Institute of the Information Society with the assistance of the Expert Advisory Group of the Council for the Development of the Information Society under the President of the RF.

The event was attended by representatives of interested federal and regional public authorities and expert society. 

Appearance of cloud computing as a new phenomenon of information industry and those new advantages and possibilities that they provide to state and municipal management were discussed at the seminar. Special attention was devoted to use of cloud computing by public and local authorities, including hosting of critically important applications/data beyond the jurisdiction of corresponding organizations, dependence of united suppliers on architecture,  adequate protection of personal data of businessmen.  

The event was opened by Alexey Tsaregorodtsev, Head of Directorate on Problems of the Information Society Development of the Institute of Contemporary Development; Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of IIS Board of Directors, emphasized in his welcoming speech the key points of discussion.

In particular the reports showed examples of successful use of cloud computing for transformation of government and phrased general recommendations for successful implementation of projects in this field.
