On 29 November - 3 December 2004 European Commission, Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency on Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, Russian committee of the UNESCO “Information for All” Programme, and Russian branch of ICOMOS held the 7^th annual international conference "EVA 2004 Moscow". The forum took place at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

EVA 2004 Moscow is one of the series of annual conferences organized since 1990 in Florence, London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Harvard (USA), Gifu (Japan), Beijing and other cities throughout the world. The topic of the conference was “Information for all: culture and Information Society technologies”.

The conference was organized by:

• Centre on the Problems of Informatisation in the sphere of Culture of the Ministry of Culture of Russia (Centre PIC)
• The State Tretyakov Gallery
• EVA Conferences International.

The conference was supported by:

• UNESCO Moscow office
• Russian Foundation for Basic Research
• Institute of the Information Society.

Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Board of IIS, chaired Section 6 “E-Moscow Programme. ICT in Culture” (1 December). Together with Dr. Stepan Orlov, member of IIS Supervisory Board, Dr. Hohlov made a presentation “E-Moscow Programme: Legal Issues”.
