ICT for non-profit organizations

Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
The third Issue of the Information Society journal was published

One of the articles of this issue (by Alexander Evtyushkin) was devoted to e-channels of interaction between public and local authorities on the one hand and citizens and organizations on the other hand. This is maybe the first classified presentation of variety of e-government infrastructure elements available today.

An interesting topic was touched by one of regular authors of the journal Alexander Raykov: holistic, conceptual components of activities of contemporary organizations. Under the conditions of information society it is necessary to specify the meaning of corporate activity and to strengthen its evaluation. For this purpose it is proposed to use culturological arguments and natural objective laws.

This issue also includes final part of the article by British scientist Leslie Haddon about the role of ICT in overcoming the social marginalization and new possibilities of full participation of vulnerable stratum in the life of the society and article by Russian researcher Yuri Grum-Grzhimaylo devoted to economics of the information society. The work contains a thesis on possible self-containment of such economics due to existence of high-yielding segments and redistribution of part of profits to low-yielding segments. Feasibility strongly depends on cooperation between interested parties.

An article by Italian professor Alfredo Ronchi is also devoted to cooperation. He presented program of cooperation for the European Union MEDICI created under the aegis of the Commission of the European Union and focused on development of international digital cultural content exchange.
