Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
The II international Educational Forum "e-Learning Russia: e-Learning Opportunities Today" will be held with support of IIS

On June 3-4, 2010 the II international Educational Forum "e-Learning Russia: e-Learning Opportunities Today" will be held in Moscow with support of the Institute of the Information Society.

The main goal of the upcoming event – to discuss current status of e-learning in educational institutions, development, innovations, e-learning implementation technologies development, and also acquaintance with the latest developing in the sphere of e-learning.  

During two days researchers and practitioners, students and teachers,   policy-makers in education and ICT professionals will share experience, discuss problems, search for decisions together, acquire knowledge essential for enhancement of e-learning within and without educational system.

Key questions of the Forum:

  • To reveal the alterations that e-learning implementation brings to educational institutions
  • To consider how the competences of a teacher adjust with active use of information technology in education
  • To examine and understand how e-learning opens new opportunities for cooperation between companies and educational institutions.

The Forum will be participated by:

  • Carl Holmberg, Secretary General of the International Council for Open and Distance Education 
  • Pete Hendrix, Secretary General of  EADTU
  • Vladimir Tikhomirov, President of International Consortium "E-University"
  • David Vincent, Member of Board and Ex-President of EADTU, Pro-Rector of the Open University of Great Britain
  • Dae Joon Hwang, PhD in computing technics (computer systems for parallel data processing) of the National University of Seoul
  • Sarah Guri-Rosenblit, Professor, Director of Centre for International Academic Researches, Head of Postgraduate Department of the open University of Israel

The following competitions are being held within the framework of the forum:

  • The best system to motivate teachers to work with ICT while teaching
  • The best e-course for teaching students
  • The best use of free instruments web 2.0 in education (for teachers)

The winners will get valuable prizes from sponsors.

The organizers are the State Duma Committee on Education, Expert Council for e-Learning and Information Technologies in Education under the State Duma Committee, International Consortium "e-University".
