The second in 2010 Issue of the "Information Society" journal was published.

In the latest issue there were published works of authors already known to our regular readers– professors Leslie Haddon of London School of Economics and Leopoldina Fortunati of The Italian University of Udine.  In their articles they discuss social marginalization (on the example of single parents and people of early old age) in terms of ICT use, and also a problem of transformation of simple users into true "actors" of broadband technologies. Besides leading European scientists studying ICT impact on people’s life are represented in the journal by Jane Vincent of Center for Study of Digital World from the University of Surrey, whose article tells about communication of emotions by means of cell phone.

Other materials of this issue are devoted to economics of the information society (Yury Grum-Grzhimaylo of Russian Research Institute of Economics, Politics and Law in Science and technology) and to creation of united information environment for Russian economics (Valfrid Treyer of Center for Economic Classifications). 

Special attention must be paid to the interview of well-known Russian culture sociologist Daniil Dondurey recorded for "Expert" journal and devoted to the future of digital TV in Russia. 

Also from the second issue of the journal one can learn about recent methodic seminar "E-Region: Organization of Works aimed at Preparation and Implementation of Action Plans for the Information Society Development and Creation of E-Government", where Institute of the Information Society acted as co-organizer, and many other events.   

Materials published in the journal were subject to reviewing and expert selection. On 26 February, 2010 the Journal was included in the new Index of leading refereed editions approved by the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles for publication of materials of PhD theses and doctoral research papers in scientific sphere.
