Russia’s readiness to the networked world: descend in rankings proceeds…
On March 25, 2010 the World Economic Forum and business-school INSEAD released the results of regular global ranking of networked readiness index (Global Information Technology Report 2009-2010). The Russian Federation over the past period of time descended from 74 to 80 point in the ranking.
Over the past period of time the areas of Russia’s lagging behind remained the same – negative business climate, unsatisfactory legislation, which doesn’t promote ICT development and use (109 position), as well as low level of public authorities’ readiness (99 position) and ICT use in public administration (107 position).
The first five leaders of WEF ranking still are the leading countries of South-East Asia, Western Europe and North America: Sweden, Singapore, Denmark, Switzerland and USA. Among CIS countries better positions than Russia are occupied by Azerbaijan (64 position) and Kazakhstan (68 position).
