Seminar on discussion of the World Bank’s report "ICT for Development"
On December 16, 2009 will take place seminar on discussion
of the World Bank’s report "Information and Communication Technologies for
Development" published in June 2009. The Seminar will be held in the form
of videoconference at the Moscow Representative Office of the World Bank. A
number of European and Central Asian countries (including Russia) will take
part in the seminar.
Each participating country will be represented by public authorities’
executives, expert community, private sector. Within the framework of the
seminar presentation of the Report by its main authors will be held, comments
from participants of the seminar followed by open discussion.

14:35 – 14:40 Greeting participants: Philippe Dongier, Lead ICT Policy
Specialist, ICT Global Department, the World Bank.
14:40 – 15:10 Main conclusions of the Report: presentation by Christine
Zhen-Wei Qiang (Lead Economist, World Bank), Juan Navas Sabater (Lead ICT
Policy Specialist, World Bank), Deepak Bhatia (e-Development Thematic Group
Coordinator, all from Global ICT Department, World Bank).
15:10 – 15:50 Comments by key representatives of public authorities from
countries-participants.
15:50 – 16:20 Responses to comments from countries and open discussion.
16:20 – 16:30 Closing remarks: Melanie Marlett and Philippe Dongier.
