International Videoseminar "M-Health: From Policy to Implementation" took place under support of IIS

On 28 October, 2009 the World Bank hosted the international videoseminar "M-Health: From Policy to Implementation" organized by the World Bank Group, UN Foundation,  m-Health Alliance in collaboration with the National Institute of Health (NIH), Foundation of National Institutions of Health (FNIH), Institute of Contemporary Development and Institute of the Information Society.

The main goal of the seminar – increase of awareness about possibilities of mobile technologies’ and innovative solutions’ use based on such technologies in order to improve level of health protection, and besides including the issue of mobile health protection use into agenda of public health protection authorities. The goal of the event is also to provide for platform for exchange of opinions about mHealth at political and operation levels.

The mHealth Summit was participated by scientists, researchers, policy-makers and experts from around the world to exchange ideas, novel approaches, research and findings surrounding mHealth issues both in the United States and in developing countries.

The videoseminar "M-Health: From Policy to Implementation" consisted of two parts: local (Russian) and global (international).

The local session which was hosted by Moscow Office of the World Bank was devoted to discussion of m-Health problems in Russia and perspectives of its use.

The event was participated by representatives of federal authorities responsible for health protection and taking part in working out of policies and implementation of projects in this sphere, and also representatives of leading IT-companies, scientific-educational and business communities.

On the basis of discussions of the Russian session of the international videoseminar Russian experts worked out short conclusions which were then presented to the attention of the global audience in the course of the second part of the seminar. 

Videoconference of the global part of the seminar connected Russian audience with the World Bank in Washington and specialists from other countries.
