On July 2, 2009 within the framework of the 6th Tver Social and Economic Forum "Information Society" the work of parallel thematic sections started, where the ways of implementation of concrete steps and suggestions contained in the Strategy of Information Society Development in the Russian Federation were discussed.

During the meeting of sessions the issues of e-government establishment, ICT use and development in public health services and people’s social security, culture, providing of life-safety, education and science, as well as legial base for information society development in RF were considered.  

Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, Deputy Head of Advisory Group of the Council on Information Society Development in Russia under the President of RF, acted as moderator of the section “Establishment of E-Government in the RF”, which was presided by Alexander Petrov, Head of E-Government Section of the Department of Public Administration, Regional Development and Local Government under the Government of RF.     

The main purpose of the section was to discuss key directions and priority activities of the National  Action Plan for the Strategy of Information Society Development in Russia in 2009-2011 aimed at establishment of e-government in RF.

Within the framework of the session reports were made by: Ilya Ponomarev, Chairman of Sub- Committee on Technological Development of the Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications of the State Duma of RF, Ronnie Wee (Singapore), Director on Development of IDA International. Representatives of public authorities of Kazakhstan and Estonia reported on their countries’ experience in e-government projects implementation.

Tatiana Ershova, IIS Director General, Head of an expert section of the Advisory Group of the Council on Information Society Development in Russia under the President of RF, acted as moderator of the section “ICT Use in Culture and the System of Cultural and Humanitarian Enlightenment”, which was presided by Oleg Neretin, Director of the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture of RF.

The session was opened by Oleg Neretin with a report on “Preservation of Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation on the basis of ICT Development and Use”. The speech of Tatiana Ershova was devoted to main achievements and problems of ICT use in culture, and to priority activities of the National Action Plan for the Strategy of Information Society Development in Russia in 2009-2011 in “ICT Use in Culture and System of Cultural and Humanitarian Enlightenment”.

In the course of the session a teleconference with representatives of the Russian State Library was arranged.
