Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
At “Microsoft: Day of Non-Commercial Organizations in St.-Petersburg” seminar a presentation of “infoDonor” program coordinated by IIS took place

In the meeting room: Tatiana Ershova and Alexandra Kapustina (on the left, in the first row)On April 23, 2009 an event "Microsoft: Day of Non-Commercial Organizations in St.-Petersburg" organized by Microsoft Company together with Center of Non-commercial Organizations Development, Institute of the Information Society and Professional-Rehabilitation Center under Committee on Social Policy of the St.-Petersburg Government took place in St.-Petersburg.

The workshop was participated by managers and IT-specialists of Russian non-governmental and non-commercial organizations (NGO/NCO).

"infoDonor" program coordinated by Institute of the Information Society was presented at the "Day of NCOs in St.-Petersburg". The goal of the infoDonor program is to provide Russian NGO/NCOs with technological support in acquiring access to the latest software products of leading Russian and international producers.

Within the framework of the seminar representatives of the Institute made reports: Tatiana Ershova, IIS General Director, spoke about peculiarities and advantages of the program, and Alexandra Kapustina, manager of the program, about placing an order and obtaining software donations from Microsoft within "infoDonor" program.On the Panel: Inessa Grikurova, Tatiana Ershova

Leading expert of Microsoft Corporation and partners made reports, vividly demonstrating advantages of ICT use for more efficient achieving of goals of noncommercial organizations.

Apart from "infoDonor" program presentation other Microsoft’s initiatives for supporting Russian non-commercial sector were introduced: a joint Microsoft resource portal for non-governmental noncommercial organizations, program of computer literacy advancement - Information Dissemination and Equal Access (IDEA) Project and other solutions with special modes for disabled people.
