Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS hosted an exhibition of works by a well-known artist-etcher Stanislaw Nikireev

The building occupied by the Institute of the Information Society hosted an exhibition of works by a well-known artist-etcher Stanislaw Nikireev, who created a whole trend in the Russian graphic design. At the heart of his creative work is the Classical School of drawing and the technique of multilayered etching.

Works by the artist are located in the State Tretiakov Gallery, Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, State Russian Museum and abroad: in Washington (Library of Congress), in Chicago ("Globus" Gallery), in Berlin (the Museum of Russian Graphics), in England, France, Japan etc.

"Stanislaw Mikhaylovich Nikireev turned out to be a revelation and shock for me. I haven’t seen etchings completed with such accuracy, with such superfine interwoven ornament of spider lines, and possessing such attractiveness for the audience for a long time. The artist charms the audience by this lace of branches, leaves, fuzzes, smoke…

As if nothing special has been depicted. Fields, roads with puddles, trees and some bushes. A bird sits on the tilling. But behind all this one feels the great love of the artist to the world. And together with the artist one feels the same.

While contemplating the works by Nikireev one begins to understand that in our times we still have printmakers of the world artistic level".

Victor Stroganov, Executive Director of the Institute of the Information Society
