Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors Yuri Hohlov was elected as independent director of the Board of Directors of Joint-Stock Company National Infocommunication Holding "Zerde" of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Government acted as founder of JSC "Zerde" Holding, which provides innovative infocommunication services for public sector. The Republic of Kazakhstan Agency on Informatization and Communication is the state body executing the right of ownership and use of the state stock of shares of "Zerde Holding" and representing the interests of the state as a stockholder on issues corresponding to the competence of the supreme authority in accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan and the Statute.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Infocommunication Holding "Zerde" is Kuanyshbek Yesekeev, the Chairman of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency on Informatization and Communication. The Board of Directors is comprised of Bakhyt Sultanov, the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan; Bolat Zhamishev, the Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan; Dulat Kustavletov, the Vice-Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan; Erlan Durmagambetov, Deputy Chairman; Adilbek Sarsenov, Chairman of JSC "Zerde" Holding; and also three independent directors – Yuri Hohlov, Denis Kogan and Rustem Isenov.

The main object of activity of the JSC "Zerde" Holding established in July last year is effective administering of legal bodies, whose shareholdings (equity stakes) were passed on in return of stocks allocated by JSC "Zerde" Holding in order to create favorable conditions for competitive growth and economic efficiency of the infocommunication branch, stimulation of investment and innovative activity in ICT sphere.

The main functions and types of activities of JSC "Zerde" Holding are comprised of: assistance to infocommunication technologies market development, providing for creation of joint information resources, systems and standards, stimulation of investment and innovative activity in ICT sphere.

At present a droft Strategic Plan of Holding Development for 2009-2012 is being worked out based on the Holding development trends approved by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
