On 17 February 2009 Moscow hosted the meeting of the Expert Board of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly – the Regional Commonwealth on Communications under the chairmanship of Leonid Reiman, Counsellor to the President of RF.

Alexander Kiselev, Deputy Chairman of the Expert Board, acting General Director of “Russian Post” FSUP; Mikhail Krotov, Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly; Nurudin Mukhitdinov, General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth on Communications; Alexander Pankratov, Deputy Head of  the Federal Agency of Information Technologies, Chairman of the Commission on Informatization, and experts and developers of draft model legislative acts took part in the meeting.

IIS representatives also took part in the meeting: Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, Yuri Hramov, IIS expert, and Mikhail Yakushev, Head of Directorate of Legal Programs.

One of the constituents of the Expert Board work is implementation of monitoring of use of model legislative acts adopted by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. So, during the meeting the Expert Board reviewed eight issues, including draft model laws “On the Internet”, “On Passport and Visa Documents and Other Identification Documents of New Generation”, “On Telemedical Services”, “On Electronic Public Services”, “On Parks of Information Services” (re course of its development), and also draft of the second part of model Information Codex for CIS. Recommendations to developers of these acts were given and decisions on these drafts were made. 

The next regular meeting of the Expert Board of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will be held in November-December 2009 in St. Petersburg.
