On January 27-29, 2009 a visit of Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors, to Yekaterinburg, organized by Sverdlovsk Regional Association of the President’s Program Alumni, took place.

On January 27, 2009 Dr. Hohlov made a report in front of professorial and teaching staff of the Ural State Technical University named after Boris Eltsin (USTU-UPI) on "Development of Information Society in Russia".

During the working meetings between Dr. Hohlov, the First Deputy Chairman of Regional Government, Minister of Economic Affairs of Sverdlovsk Region  Mikhail Maksimov and Minister of Energy and Housing Policy Yuri Shevelev the specificity and problems of ICT development and use in Sverdlovsk region were discussed.

Within the framework of TOP-Club organized by Association of the President’s Program Alumni - the place, where representatives of legislative and executive branches meet regularly with top-managers of big enterprises - Dr. Hohlov made a report on "Summit on Global Agenda. Fundamental Rebooth of the Global Governance System", devoted to perspectives of the forming post-crisis format of global interaction. Let's remind our partners that Dr. Hohlov is the member of the Council "The Future of the Government" formed by the World Economic Forum within the framework of the Summit on Global Agenda in 2008.

Current problems of world governments future in the middle of the global economic crisis, current condition of democracy, public services and functions were addressed.

Besides, Dr. Hohlov told participants of the TOP-Club about trends coming out at macroeconomics and international policy levels, and about the development of the information society and e-government in Russia.
