Institute of the Information Society announces the foundation of the new academic and research seminar devoted to issues of information society development in Russian and in the world.

The main goal of the seminar is to consolidate Russian expert community for discussing key issues in the sphere of information society development and promotion of scientific knowledge and the best practical achievements to the social sphere and economy of the country.

The targets of the seminar are:

• Development of the expert community in the sphere of information society and knowledge economy
• Discussing the main theories of postindustrial development, including development of the information society and knowledge economy, and also encouraging progressive ideas
• Promotion of the ideology and information society technologies in Russia and its regions through publishing seminar’s materials in printed and electronic format

To increase efficiency of the expert community’s work modern forms of online cooperation will be used as additional tools.

Based on the seminar’s materials a monthly bulletin and also an annual almanac will be published. The “Information Society” magazine will have a special column covering the course of discussion at the seminar.

Institute of Information Society is the organizer of the seminar. As partners of the Institute in conducting the seminar organizations possessing expertise of information society development and economy of knowledge are invited. Seminar is planned to be conducted in Moscow, as well as in other regions of Russia with monthly regularity taking into consideration summer and winter vacation periods.

The first seminar will be held in the end of January 2009. It will be devoted to “Summit on Global Agenda. Fundamental Rebooth of the Global Governance System. Government 2.0”.
