Don Tapscott and Tatiana Ershova exchange their recent books
Don Tapscott and Tatiana Ershova

Well-known Canadian publicist and business-consultant Donald Tapscott thoroughly analyzes possibilities of digital technologies’ use in economy and society in his works. He wrote twelve books devoted to this issue. Mostly he owes his popularity to his book “Paradigm Shift: The New Promise of Information Tehnology" published in 1992. The other famous work is “The Digital Economy: Promise and Peril in the Age of Networked Intelligence” of 1995 – one of the first books in the world describing the ability of internet to change business and society.

In 1998 “Growing Up Digital: The Rise of the Net Generation” by Tapscott was published. In this work the author introduces the “N-Generation” concept (“Net Generation”) which shows how Internet pierced into social group uniting children and youth.

In 2000 Tapscott together with David Ticoll and Alex Lowy published one more book “Digital Capital: Harnessing the Power of Business Webs”. It makes clear that such networks substitute traditional business models, change dynamics of prosperity creation and forms of competition.
In 2006 appeared a joined work of Don Tapscott with Antony Williams “Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything”, which presents a new phenomenon more and more perforating into different companies thanks to younger employees  - social commuting which provides for effective consolidated work, helps to develop and raise innovations.

In her book “We are the Information Society!” published in September 2008 Tatiana Ershova calls Don Tapscott “a real visionary of information society”. She devoted to him a whole part of her work because in her opinion he possesses rare ability to accurately trace sprouts of future in the present, helps those who is not afraid of new to support those sprouts and become themselves leading and successful players at our complicated, rapidly changing global market.

A few days ago the latest book by D.Tapscott “Grown Up Digital” was issued. This work is the continuation of his 1998 book “Growing Up Digital”. In the course of the Inauguration Summit on the Global Agenda organized by the World Economic Forum, which took place on 7-9 November 2008 in Dubai, a personal meeting between Don Tapscott and Tatiana Ershova took place, and they exchanged their most recent books.
