IIS signed a partnership agreement with an American NCO TechSoup Global in regards to implementation of a program of software donation to non-commercial organizations in Russia.

In Russian this program is called “infoDonor” and has been implemented since July 2008 in test mode by Institute of the Information Society together with TechSoup Global. The official start of the program in Russia is scheduled for February 2009.

By “infoDonor” program startup IIS hopes to significantly increase quantity of non-commercial organizations (NCO), which will intensively use ICT in their everyday work for increase in efficiency and better accomplishment of their missions.

Getting technological products as gifts and providing Russian NCOs with an integrated access point to charitable programs of leading players in ICT sphere will help to solve problems of these organizations in the proposed field.
