Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on creation of a Council on Information Society Development in Russia

Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree “On Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Information Society Development in the Russian Federation”.

According to the document the Council is an advisory body under the President of RF and aims at providing effective communication between federal public authorities, public authorities of subjects of RF, local authorities, associations, scientific and other organizations in the field of information society development in Russia.

Among the main goals of the Council are: preparation of proposals to the President of RF on information society development, on problems of realization of the Strategy of Information Society Development in Russia, carrying out expert examinations of draft laws in regards to the above issues, presentation of an annual report on information society development.

The chairman of the Council is the President of RF. The Council consists of the chairman, deputy chairmen, secretary and members of the Council taking part in its work on a voluntary basis.

In accordance with the Decree the Council’s presidium is created for solving current problems and is headed by the chief of Administration of the President of RF.
