Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS showed its latest developments and projects at the VIII international exhibition and forum "InfoCom-2008"

On October 25 the VIII international exhibition-forum "InfoCom-2008" completed its work. This has been the key event in ICT sphere, which was organized under support of the Ministry of Communications and Media of RF.

 During 4 days of exhibition at "Crocus Expo" it was visited by leading experts on modern information technologies from numerous companies all over Russia and from abroad, representatives of public authorities, business and scientific communities.                                                 

Igor Shchyogolev, minister of communications and media, took part in the opening ceremony and made a speech at the plenary session "Development of Telecommunications in a New Round of Russi’s Modernization" on "Information Society and Modern Technologies of Information Transfer".

Amongst numerous events within the framework of the exhibition "A Russian Internet Week" (RIW-2008) took place, while working out its program the experience of conducting such conferences as RIF and RIT was taken into account.

Institute of the Information Society showed its latest developments and projects.                                                                                              

IIS booth was devoted to publishing and other projects of the Institute. In particular, visitors at "InfoCom-2008" could make acquaintance with publications issued this year: a book by Tatiana Ershova "We are the Information Society!", analytical report on "Analysis of ICT Development and Use in Subjects of RF", a book by M. K

 

ogalovsky and Yu. Hohlov "XML Standards for E-Government". Besides the booth represented the info-analytical magazine "Information Society" and booklets representing the Institute’s activities.
