Global Innovation Outlook initiative (GIO) is based on the idea that era of unlimited business, fast development of technologies and information communications has great potential for innovations. By means of series of open and unprejudiced brainstorming sessions under the general name "Deep Dive" IBM Corporation interacts with constantly expanding ecosystem of global discussions’ participants in order to discover potentials for innovations dealing with society, business and information technologies. At present more than 40 sessions of Deep Dive have already been conducted within the framework of GIO program and more than 550 best intellects from dozens of countries have taken part in it.

Forum, first held in Russia on April 10, 2008, was devoted to the problem: "Security and Society". Participants of discussion were proposed to examine means by which different organizations will be able to work together on creation of innovations in the global security context. Participant of the forum discussed the following issues:

• Do we live in fundamentally secure world?
• Which most important factors will determine the nature of personal security during the upcoming 10 years?
• How the load of responsibility for security between citizens, organizations and governments must be distributed?
• Which compromise between sanctity of private life and providing for security you believe to be acceptable?
• In conditions where expenses on destructive attacks reduce and expenses on protection against these attacks grow, how one organization must choose objects of protection?
• How security strategies for organizations and States could use our more and more integrated global society?

Representative of "EVRAAS" Association, Aeroflot, Institute of the Information Society, Institute of System Programming of RAS, Institute of System Researches of RAS, "InformSecurity" company, "Industrial Investors", Gas Natural, IBM Corporation, Openwall, Synectics, Central Bank of Russia and others took part in the discussion.
