On November 14, 2007 the State Duma in Moscow hosted the round table on "E-Payment Systems: Problems of Legal Ensuring".

A. Evtyushkin, Head of Directorate of Innovation and Investment Projects of the Institute of the Information Society, made a report on "The Situation on the E-payment Market".  The main topics of his speech were:

1. Social role of e-payment systems;

2. Specifics of the legislation process in regards to e-payment systems.

Participants of the round table mentioned that the rash growth of the e-commerce market in Russia is not adequately accompanied by appropriate legal framework, thus it is not supported by normative regulations in economic, tax and administrative policy. Participants of the round table outlined a set of activities aimed at activating the work of legislative and executive branches, which will make for mass development of modern tendencies in domestic online-trade.
