On 29 November the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow held the annual awards ceremony of the National Premium for Contribution to the Russian Internet Development - Runet-2006 Premium, and the celebratory concert "12 RUyears-show" dedicated to the 12^th anniversary of the Russian Internet.

The ceremony was opened by Deputy Head of the Federal agency on press and mass communications Andrey Romanchenko, who stressed the crucial importance of Runet Premium for Internet technologies development in the Russian Federation.

The awards were given to the winners in six main and two special nominations. Three peer winners were selected in each nomination.

This year's winners are:

1. Nomination "Government and Society"

• Federal information agency REGNUM
• Federal tariff service of the Russian Federation
• Administration of the Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra

2. Nomination "Culture and Mass Communications"

• State broadcasging company "Mayak"
• Publishing house Bonnier Business Press" and DP.ru Project - business news of the two capitals (St. Petersburg)
• TV Channel "Kultura"

3. Nomination "Science and Education"

• Wikimedia Foundation: free multilingual encyclopaedia (Russian section) - Wikipedia
• Bureau of social multimedia programs ELEKS-Alfa and GRAMOTA.RU project
• Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan and education portal

4. Nomination "Business and Economics"

• Khrono Pay payment systems
• Research and development centre Computer world" (Omsk city) and network of Internet projects "Industrial Siberia"
• Eniro Rus - M Company

5. Nomination "Health and Leisure"

• IMS Interactive and the first All-Russian Internet project on leisure and recreation - CityOut.Ru
• Diamond Scent company and game portal Combats.ru
• Odnoklassniki.ru Project

7. Nomination "Runet outside RU"

• Xanthos GmbH (Cologne city) and Germany.ru - Russian-style Germany
• BelaPAN company (Minsk city) and Internet edition Belorussian News
• Information portal DELFI in Latvia and Estonia

Awards in the Special nominations were given to:

• Foundation Internet society Country of the Deaf
• Economic portal of Belgorod region

The title "National asset of the Russian Internet" was awarded to:

• Spartak BELYAEV, Director of the Institute of General and Nuclear Physics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences
• Sergey BOROD'KO, Founder and former head of the Demos group of companies (posthumously).

The Ceremony also summarized the results of the interactive action "Public Vote" that was carried on the official site of the Competition for 100 days. Public top-ten and Leader of Public Vote were named. The game portal Combats.ru was announced the leader of the Public Vote.

Interactive recording and online broadcasting of the Ceremony in the Internet was carried out by Internet television Corbina.TV. Television coverage of the Ceremony was made by the General information partner of the Runet Premium competition - TV channel "TV Center".
