On 11 July 2006 Saratov held a working meeting on e-development of Saratov region. The participants discussed outlooks for using information and communication technologies for efficient socio-economic development of the region, increasing efficiency of production in the areas crucial for Saratov region, and improving the quality of life in the region.

The meeting was held by Andrey Korolev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Saratov Region. The meeting was attended by Pavel Malkov, Deputy Head of Department of Information Technologies and Communications of the Government of Saratov Region, Vladimir Lubkov, Councilor of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Government of Saratov Region, as well as representatives of business sector and research and education community of the region. Among active participants to the discussion of the problems of Information Society development there were Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of IIS Board, and Tatiana Ershova, IIS General Director.
