Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS participated in municipal scientific and experience sharing conference "E-Region Project - Tool for Efficient Implementation of the City Target Program "E-Moscow" on the Territory of a Moscow Administrative District"

On 1 June 2006 Prefecture of Zelenograd Administrative District held scientific and practical conference experience sharing conference "E-Region Project - Tool for Efficient Implementation of the City Target Program "E-Moscow" on the Territory of a Moscow Administrative District".

The conference was organized by Prefecture of Zelenograd Administrative District in cooperation with Moscow Informatization Department, General Architect of CTP "E-Moscow" and prefectures of South-Eastern and North-Eastern administrative districts.

The conference was opened by Anatoly Smirnov, Prefect of Zelenograd Administrative District, who conducted the whole event. Anatoly Petrov, Plenipotentiary Representative of Moscow Mayor in the Moscow City Duma (Council) addressed the conference participants in the name of Yury Luzhkov.

The conference aimed at preparing to the meeting of Moscow Government planned for 27 June 2006. The meeting will discuss similar topics in order to develop a single organizational and technical policy of implementing the E-Moscow program in administrative districts. The program will provide standard set of e-services for citizens and improve their quality. The meeting also plans to adopt a resolution, which was presented to the conference participants.

The conference was attended by representatives of Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and and Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications; representatives of federal agencies on special economic zones, science and technologies, information technologies; Russian Academy of Sciences; Moscow City Duma, Moscow Government, territorial authorities, Moscow municipal facilities complexes, as well as member of the Board of Chief Architects of CTP "E-Moscow".

Leading specialists from the Institute of the Information Society took part in the event, including Sergei Akimov, Head of Directorate of Informatics; Vladimir Kondratiev, Lead Specialist; and Vadim Galperin, Head of Planning and Economic Department. Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Board, made a presentation "E-Region Architecture" (in Russian).

Russia held a teleconference within the event with experts from Italy, Great Britain, Estonia and Kazakhstan with support of the World Bank Moscow Office.
