On 29-31 March 2006 Central House of Entrepreneurs in Moscow held the second international forum MedSoft 2006 - Medical information technologies for developers and users.

The forum aimed at:

• Shaping common information space in the sphere of medical information technologies development and application
• Helping medical institutions in choosing and operating computer systems
• Resolving issues of data level compatibility, standardizing and integrating medical computer systems
• Analyzing market conditions and promoting products to the market

The forum comprised a specialized exhibition and a conference. 44 enterprises and organizations from Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Kazan, Kursk, Omsk, Pereslavl-Zalessky in Yaroslavl region, as well as international corporations Hewlett-Packard, Intel and InterSystems participated in the exhibition.

The MedSoft-2006 conference presented 24 reports on the most urgent aspects of IT development and application in the healthcare. The participants shared global experience of using ICT in medicine and discussed issues concerning shaping common information space and developing the market of ICT in healthcare.

Among the conference rapporteurs there were specialists from Russia, Germany, France, and international corporations - IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and InterSystems.
