Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS representative makes report at the conference “Reserves for Accelerating the Economic Growth and Doubling GDP in Russia”

On 12-13 December 2005 the site of the Moscow Government on Novy Arbat street held an All-Russian scientific and technical conference “Reserves for Accelerating the Economic Growth and Doubling GDP in Russia” and a function dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Russian Engineering Academy. These events were initiated by the Higher Engineering Council with support of the Federation Council and Moscow Government.

Sergei Mironov, Chairman of the Federation Council of the RF Federal Assembly, Co-Chairman of the Higher Engineering Council, spoke to the conference participants. He emphasized the outstanding importance of the conference topic and significance of this event for the development of innovative activity in Russia, as well as for enhancing the role and status of the engineer in the society.

On 13 December 2005 several round tables on different topics were held within the framework of the conference.

The round table “Informatization and Telecommunications” witnessed the report by Igor Bukreev, Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Academy, Academician-Secretary of the section “Information Systems, Computing and Electronic Technology, Communications and Telecommunications”.

 

Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of IIS Board, full member of the Russian Engineering Academy, made presentation “Russia’s e-Readiness”  (in Russian).
