On 20 October 2005 Tver held regional thematic round table ICT Influence on the Quality of Public Administration: Social Aspect within the framework of competition Best Russian Region in the sphere of ICT. The round table was organized by LLC RBC Center and Institute of the Information Society.

The round table was attended by Dmitry Zelenin, Governor of Tver Region; Tatiana Rogova, Advisor to the Department of Corporate Management, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the RF; Natalia Klimova, Director of Corporate Relations, RBC; Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Board, Institute of the Information Society, as well as experts of the competition Best Russian Region in the sphere of ICT, representatives of administration of Tver Region, public authorities, business community, research community, mass media and civil society.

The governor said that Tver Region pays particular attention to introducing and applying information technologies for resolving social objectives. He affirmed the region’s readiness to participate in the competition Best Russian Region in the sphere of ICT in 2005 and represent among other things ICT projects in the social sphere.

Participants to the round table discussed main dimensions of governmental policy in the sphere of information technologies development, influence of information technologies on the quality of governmental administration, information transparency and openness of public authorities in the region for citizens, as well as region’s e-readiness and competition Best Russian Region in the sphere of ICT in 2005. During the meeting several presentations were dedicated to the federal target program eRussia.
