Strategy for Information Society Development in Russia
IIS leader participates in ICT Leadership seminar in Brazil
Brazil held the 33rd edition of the National Public Technology Information Conference (SECOP 2005). The aim of the conference was to debate the strategies and actions in the public management concerning the use and development of the Information and Communication Technologies. Its main theme was "ICT Leadership: technology allied to the government strategies".
 

The conference was held on 13-14 October 2005 at the Blue Tree Park Resort, in the city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho, on the south shore of the state of Pernambuco.

The 2005 SECOP debated the relationship between the ICT and the public management strategies.

During the SECOP 2005, speeches and discussions were held on topics such as the responsibilities of the various governmental sectors facing the new and increasing ICT tools and the formation of an administration model which is more participative and less centered, having the technology supporting the government decisions and spreading and improving the services with the citizen's attendance.

Various speeches and thematic panels, lectured by specialists from the four corners of the country and by eminent international experts, composed the SECOP2005.

Three international experts were invited to the seminar:

  • Nagy Hanna - Senior Fellow and Co-Director, e-Leadership Academy Initiative, University of Maryland; the World Bank’s former senior advisor on e-Development
  • Yuri Hohlov - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Institute of the Information Society (Russia)
  • Oliver Bell - Microsoft's Solutions Sharing Network (SSN) worldwide program manager
