English-Russian Glossary on Information Society
A metaphor for the revolutionary impact of ICTs
on all spheres of life in the last quarter of the XX century. This
phenomenon integrates the effects of the previous revolutionary
innovations in the information sphere (book printing, telephone
and radio communication, personal computers). It provides a technological
basis for overcoming distances when transmitting information and
makes possible integration of intellectual capabilities and spiritual
powers of mankind.
