English-Russian Glossary on Information Society
(term widely used in 1970-80s).
1. Economy where most part of GDP is provided by production, processing,
storage and dissemination of information and knowledge, and where
more than a half of employed are engaged in that activity.
2. The advocates of this theory stress the leading role of ICTs
in the development of all spheres of economy. Information is considered
as a good, it is analysed mostly with the help of statistical methods.
